Little Free Library

Little Free Library

Long Lake Heights is home to two Little Free Libraries, small book-sharing boxes that anyone in the community is welcome to use. The spirit of the program is simple: take a book, share a book. Browse whenever you like, borrow something that catches your eye, and return it or pass it along when you’re done. There is no card, no sign-up, no due date, and no cost. If you have books you’ve finished and enjoyed, leave them for a neighbour to discover.

Both boxes are registered with Little Free Library, the global non-profit behind the program, and each carries its own charter number. (One is Charter #175697.) Once listed, registered libraries can be found on the Little Free Library World Map at littlefreelibrary.org/map by searching the charter number.

Getting involved is easy. Keep the libraries stocked by dropping off gently used books, help keep the boxes tidy and weather-ready, or volunteer to help look after one. To ask about volunteering or the libraries in general, contact the Grounds Care Committee at council@longlakeheights.ca.
