Managing Community Fire Risk: A Shared Responsibility

Managing Community Fire Risk: A Shared Responsibility

With July and August marking the peak wildfire hazard season, we are reminded of the important role each of us plays in reducing and managing fire risk. Through individual responsibility, due diligence, and being aware of FireSmart best practices, we can help protect our homes, our neighbours, and our community.

Every Strata resident has a shared responsibility to exercise due diligence in regularly identifying and reducing potential fire hazards on their property and within our beautiful Strata community.

Our Strata Community actively supports the B.C. Wildfire FireSmart principles including their financial support for our Spring Red Bin program.  We encourage our residents to be aware of the role each of us plays in incorporating them into everyday property maintenance to help protect not only their own homes but also neighbouring properties and our shared community spaces.

Simple actions such as removing combustible materials, pruning trees and shrubs, and following local fire regulations can significantly reduce the likelihood and impact of fire.

By working together to identify and reduce potential fire hazards, we strengthen our community’s resilience and contribute to a safer environment for everyone.
